The future of the historic observatory at Herstmonceux is uncertain due to Queen’s University, who also own Herstmonceux Castle, not renewing the Science Centre’s lease. We are campaigning to keep Observatory Science Centre at the observatory and ensure future public access. Not affiliated with Science Projects.
The Times covered the story on 4 April. Queen’s University Canada’s Provost, Matthew Evans, and Abbie Rumbold, CEO of Science Projects, both confirm in the article that the two organisations are in talks about a possible extension to the Observatory Science Centre’s lease beyond December 2026.
